MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER – PALMERSTON

Position Objective: The Marketing and Communications Officer provide effective and timely operations and administrative support to the Marketing and Communications team and contributes to the delivery plan.

Position: Working with the Marketing and Communications Lead, the Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for operations and administrative duties that support the Marketing and Communications team. Including a broad range of communication projects and channels. A variety of administrative and general operations duties and support marketing campaigns and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with all stakeholders and coordinate media placement for marketing campaigns to produce clear and concise copy for websites, external letters, internal correspondence, reports, media releases, speeches and publications.
  • Produce content suitable for a range of communication channels including print, digital, and social communications and collateral and develop/ implement communication and marketing campaigns for events, programs and initiatives.
  • Prepare correspondence to media enquiries and liaise with the leadership.
  • Monitor/oversee the Marketing and Communications inbox and prioritise written and electronic correspondence, track follow up actions and ensure responses are provided.
  • Attend events in an official capacity to provide social media support or community engagement with workflows with teams, meet deadlines and provide administrative support to the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Maintain brand, visual identity and creative assets with the development of quality creative assets such as print and digital ads, flyers, posters and information booklets.

Requirements:

  • Certificate (or higher) level qualification in business, communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing or demonstrated experience in a similar role and high-level customer service skills, including effective and timely engagement with the community, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities with excellent verbal, written communication, negotiation, organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across the organisation and work autonomously when required and ability and proven experience to build strong relationships.
  • Have a meticulous and efficient work ethic, with a high level of attention to detail.
