We are recruiting a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join a dynamic team providing exceptional care to individuals with disabilities.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will work across various respite environments to deliver person-centered support that promotes the independence, dignity, and well-being of each participant. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that each participant’s care plan is followed, fostering a positive and empowering environment that enhances their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participant Support: Assist with personal care, cooking, household tasks, and community access, ensuring individual care plans are followed.
- Activity Implementation: Plan and deliver activities that support participants' goals, preferences, and skill development.
- Compliance & Administration: Maintain accurate records and adhere to confidentiality protocols while complying with organizational policies.
- Health & Safety: Ensure workplace health and safety standards are met and contribute to a safe environment for all.
- Team Collaboration: Work with managers and senior staff to ensure high-quality services and participate in team meetings.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices and complete training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in disability support.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Participant Outcomes: Positive feedback from participants and families based on services provided.
- Operational Excellence: Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Safety & Risk Management: Follow safety protocols and report hazards/incidents promptly.
- Team Contributions: Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve goals and maintain a positive culture.
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate III or higher in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Care Services (or equivalent).
- Current Working with Children Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, and First Aid/CPR certification.
- NT Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of wellness and enablement principles in care services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, demonstrating empathy and respect for participants and their families.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with databases and word processing.
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in dementia care or supporting participants with complex needs.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in consumer-directed care frameworks.
