Property Officer – Property & Asset Management

Join a dedicated Property & Assets team supporting the management of residential and commercial properties across seven regions. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Property Officer to contribute to the effective delivery of property and accommodation services across urban and remote locations.

Working closely with internal teams, regional staff, landlords, contractors and service providers, you will play a key role in ensuring properties are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. This diverse role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to build strong stakeholder relationships while supporting continuous improvement in property management practices.

Position Details

  • Classification: ASO5 A5A
  • Base Salary: $76,946 per annum
  • Superannuation: 15%

Reporting to the Senior Property Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and managing residential and commercial lease agreements, including documentation, bonds and property inspections.
  • Organising maintenance and repair works, including contractor engagement and follow-up across urban and remote properties.
  • Maintaining accurate property and accommodation records, including allocation, utilisation and reporting.
  • Liaising with landlords, contractors and service providers to ensure timely completion of repairs, maintenance and minor works.
  • Monitoring outstanding property issues and supporting planned maintenance programs, escalating risks or delays where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications in Property Management or a related field within residential and/or commercial environments.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in residential or commercial property management.
  • Experience in housing or property management, including knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1999, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and cross-cultural engagement skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to interpret and apply leases, contracts and relevant legislation.
  • A current C Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to remote and regional areas, including travel in manual 4WD vehicles and small aircraft.
